Nice Twice in Bloom

A community led exhibition designed by artists with learning disabilities exploring topics around inclusion through nature and art.

This exhibition is an interactive garden of sensory discovery with artwork designed to be touched, smelt and heard.

Displayed are different forms of artwork created by approx. 200 people from workshops with Square Peg, Ganton School, KIDS, Giroscope, Artlink, Case, The Warren, Tweendykes Sixth Form and Gig Buddies Hull.

The exhibition is fun, colourful and cheerful but there is a deeper meaning once you delve closer, each of the pieces have messages about inclusion and Hull. The artwork is in answer to three questions; what do you like about Hull? Where do you go in Hull? What makes you feel included? You’ll see these answers recorded, written and drawn within the artwork. You’ll hear stories from people in Hull sharing their experiences about living in Hull.

The artwork is consciously designed from recycled materials and borrowed equipment, showing the true importance of communities coming together to make things happen.

By integrating scent, sound, and play, the exhibition invites you to experience the world through a different lens. There is artwork using projections, scent, touch, sound and artwork which invite you to draw and add to.

Join us to celebrate the artistic achievement of a community that proves art is not just something you see, it is something you feel, hear, and interact with. Come and be part of the conversation.
